ROLE SUMMARY:
AIM Chipinque is part of AIM (American Institute of Monterrey), a leading international school in Monterrey and a member of Inspired Education, a global group of premium schools. AIM is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and proactive I-Pal Assistant to join our team. The I-Pal Assistant will support the delivery of AIM’s student wellbeing and development programme, working closely with students, teachers, and the wider school team to create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
The role requires someone who enjoys working directly with children, is attentive to their individual needs, and can build strong and trusting relationships. The successful candidate will support students in their social, emotional, and personal development while contributing to their overall school experience and wellbeing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the I-Pal team in the implementation of activities and initiatives focused on students’ social, emotional, and personal development.
- Provide individual and small-group support to students, following the guidance of the I-Pal team and school leadership.
- Build positive and supportive relationships with students, helping them feel safe, included, and confident at school.
- Assist students with emotional regulation, social interactions, conflict resolution, and the development of positive behaviours.
- Observe students and communicate relevant information or concerns to the appropriate members of the school team.
- Support the implementation of strategies and interventions designed to address individual student needs.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, coordinators, psychologists, and other members of the school community.
- Assist with classroom and school activities when additional student support is required.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality regarding student information and wellbeing matters.
- Promote AIM’s values and contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and positive school culture.
- Follow all school safeguarding, health and safety, and student wellbeing policies and procedures.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A degree or ongoing studies in Psychology, Education, Educational Psychology, Pedagogy, or a related field.
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational, psychological, or developmental setting.
- A genuine interest in supporting children’s social and emotional development and wellbeing.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
- Patience, empathy, discretion, and a caring approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to follow guidance while also demonstrating initiative and responsibility.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- English proficiency appropriate for working within AIM’s bilingual/international school environment.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of all students.
