Vilamoura International School (CIV) is the leading educational institution in the South of Portugal, offering Pre-school, Basic Education, and Secondary Education with the most prestigious national and Cambridge curricula.

Vilamoura International School is looking for an enthusiastic Primary Teacher to join our school starting September 2026.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons across the primary curriculum.

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where all pupils can thrive.

  • Use a range of teaching strategies and assessment methods to support individual learning needs.

  • Foster pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development through strong pastoral care.

  • Participate in collaborative planning, year-group initiatives, and the wider school community.

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • A university degree in Primary Education or a relevant teaching qualification.

  • Strong understanding of effective primary teaching and learning practices.

  • Experience working with young learners in an international or diverse educational setting (preferred).

  • Excellent organisational, communication, and classroom management skills.

  • An adaptable, reflective teaching style with a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • A caring, student-centred approach and dedication to safeguarding and wellbeing.

  • Confidence using ICT to enrich teaching and learning.
