ROLE SUMMARY:

Role Summary

Colégio Internacional de Vilamoura (CIV) is the educational institution (Pre-school, Basic Education and Secondary Education) with the most prestigious national and Cambridge curricula in the South of Portugal.

Integrated into a unique natural environment, with a recreational space of around 18,500m2, over the last 40 years it has developed an educational model that focuses on the early learning of foreign languages (Portuguese, English and French), research and educational priorities supported by democratic and humanist values.

To join our team, we are looking for a well-qualified and talented Nurse who is passionate about student care, health education, and creating a safe school environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality primary healthcare and first aid to students and staff in case of injury or acute illness.
Develop and monitor individual health plans for students with chronic conditions or specific medical needs.
Lead health education initiatives, advising students and staff on nutrition, hygiene, and healthy lifestyle habits.
Conduct regular health screenings to detect potential issues in early stages.
Maintain and update accurate digital medical records and vaccination histories for the student body.
Implement protocols for the prevention and control of communicable diseases to ensure a safe campus.
Write professional referrals for pediatricians and other external health specialists when required.
Ensure full compliance with Portuguese national health laws and local regulations.
Support the school’s safeguarding policies and contribute to the overall wellbeing strategy.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

The Ideal Candidate

Degree in Nursing with valid registration (Ordem dos Enfermeiros).
Fluency in English (essential for our international community); proficiency in Portuguese is highly valued.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an empathetic approach to student care.
Strong sense of responsibility, clinical judgment, and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team (teachers, psychologists, and management).
Passion for education and promoting a culture of health within a school setting.
Availability for a full-time position during the contract period.
