ROLE SUMMARY:

King’s College School Soto de Viñuelas, in Madrid, is seeking to appoint a passionate Teacher of Geography for a late August 2025 start date. The successful candidate will join a thriving Humanities department and will be expected to teach Geography to A-Level and/or the IB Diploma Programme.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and deliver engaging and rigorous Geography lessons to students across Key Stages, including A-Level and/or IB.
Inspire a deep interest in Geography and develop students’ analytical and evaluative skills.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback.
Contribute to the broader academic and co-curricular life of the school.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote interdisciplinary learning and academic excellence.
Engage in continuous professional development and adopt best teaching practices.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

A relevant degree and a recognised teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
Experience teaching Geography at Key Stage 4 and Post-16 level (A-Level and/or IB).
A willingness to teach or train in IB Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) is desirable, but not essential.
A commitment to high academic standards and student success.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
A collaborative, innovative, and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning.
