ROLE SUMMARY:

 

With over 40 years of commitment to excellence, Brookhouse provides British Curriculum co-education on two Nairobi campuses with over 1300 pupils aged 1-19.

 

Accredited by CIS and COBIS, and a Round Square and G-30 member school, Brookhouse caters for the international, business and professional communities of East Africa.

 

We are looking for a teacher with experience at the appropriate level in a British curriculum school for our 2026/2027 academic year beginning in September 2026.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Prepare a structured programme of study for each class taught with clearly stated aims and objectives and with evidence of allowing for differentiation between students of different abilities.
  • Prepare lesson plans and teach individual lessons.
  • Mark class work and homework and assess achievement according to agreed Faculty policy.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and assimilate elements of the British National Curriculum as appropriate
  • Include in schemes of work elements of information technology in consultation with the IT department staff.
  • Attend meetings, including parent consultation meetings, as required, scheduled, and/or necessary.
  • Be involved in the duty rota, as scheduled.
  • Ensure that the ethics of the school as expressed in the school philosophy are clearly reflected in your teaching.
  • Cover for absent colleagues and invigilate examinations as required.
  • Promote the image of the school.
  • Perform any other duties as may be reasonably assigned to you by the Director and the Core Management Team.
