ROLE SUMMARY:
The Commerce / Business / Entrepreneurship Teacher at Reddam House plays a crucial role in guiding students from Year 7 to Year 10 through their educational journey, leveraging extensive experience and expertise to deliver high-quality instruction. Working as part of an established team, this role involves teaching stages 4-5, contributing to curriculum development, and leading educational initiatives within the school.
You will be expected to inspire academic excellence, foster intellectual curiosity, and support the holistic development of students. By creating engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and contributing to the broader school community, this teacher ensures that students are empowered to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and personally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach Commerce/Entrepreneurship (and some History) to secondary students to yr 7-10 in an innovative and collaborative environment.
- Unlock students' true potential, preparing them for unlimited success through developing engaging experiences with real-world contexts.
- Provide high-quality education, development, and care.
- Engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, aligning with Reddam House’s educational philosophy.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A teaching degree with a minimum of three years of post-qualification experience, specialising in Commerce/Business/Entrepreneurship or a closely related subject.
- Experience with the NESA Stage 5 Commerce syllabus content (additional Stage 4 History a benefit).
- A valid Working With Children check and right to work in Australia.
- Confidence in using ICT in teaching.
- Creative and innovative in teaching approaches, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Patient, empathetic, and understanding, with a strong ability to support students’ emotional and social well-being.
- Collaborative team player who works well with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
- Resilient and adaptable, highly organised, able to handle challenges and changes within the educational environment.

- A recognized teaching qualification, such as a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalent.
- Accreditation with NESA (New South Wales Education Standards Authority).
- Extensive experience in secondary education, with a proven track record of excellence in teaching and leadership.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- A valid Working with Children Check.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training as required.
- Availability to contribute to extracurricular activities and school events beyond regular teaching hours.
