ROLE SUMMARY:

Reddam St Leonards follow a stimulating, interest-led syllabus and are fully supported by our team of leading early years educators as they advance in various subjects. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Educational Leader to guide and inspire high-quality teaching and learning practices across our service. This role is responsible for mentoring educators, driving curriculum development aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework, and supporting continuous improvement.


In this permanent position, you’ll work alongside passionate colleagues to deliver meaningful learning experiences that foster independence, creativity, and a love of discovery. You’ll support children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development through play-based and child-led learning, building strong, consistent relationships with children and families as part of our dedicated team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead reflective practice and support high‑quality program planning and documentation
  • Build educator capability through guidance, collaboration, and mentoring
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant standards, regulations, and safety requirements
  • Collaborate with Room Leaders to deliver an innovative, inquiry‑driven curriculum
  • Observe and document children’s learning to support personalised development pathways
  • Create safe, engaging indoor and outdoor learning environmentsBuild strong, respectful partnerships with families and the wider community
  • Contribute to a reflective, inclusive team culture and engage in ongoing professional development

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Strong understanding of child-led and inquiry-based learning methodologies, with a genuine commitment to the Reggio Emilia philosophy and best practice in early childhood education.
  • Proven experience in early childhood settings, with a passion for supporting young children’s emotional, social, and cognitive development through creative and engaging teaching approaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive, collaborative relationships with colleagues, children, families, and the wider community.
  • Highly organised and adaptable, demonstrating strong time management, attention to detail, resilience, and openness to continuous professional development.
  • A patient, empathetic, and nurturing team player who contributes positively to planning, fosters an inclusive environment, and responds flexibly to change and new challenges.


QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • ACECQA-approved qualifications.
  • A valid Working With Children Check (or ability to obtain one).
  • Strong understanding of inquiry-based and child-led learning.
