ROLE SUMMARY:

Join Reddam Early Learning School (ELS) as a casual Early Childhood Educator and play a vital role in shaping the foundational years of children aged 1 to 5 years. Situated in the vibrant community of Woollahra, our school is dedicated to delivering an enriched early learning experience founded on the Reggio Emilia approach. This approach emphasises nurturing each child’s individuality, fostering their independence and curiosity through carefully crafted educational experiences.

 

As part of our team, you will contribute to a supportive and inclusive setting that values collaboration with families and celebrates the joy of discovery and learning.  As a casual Early Learning Educator you will be required to be available 2-5 days per week at our Woollahra Early Learning School - Located 3min walk from Bondi Junction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the Room Leader in planning and implementing an innovative, inquiry-driven curriculum aligned with the Reggio Emilia philosophy to promote emotional, social, and cognitive growth for children aged 1-5 years.
  • Document and reflect upon the developmental progress of each child regularly, using observational assessments to guide personalised learning journeys.
  • Responsibly conduct scheduled observations and developmental screenings for small groups, ensuring thorough understanding and support of each child's unique needs.
  • Design and maintain dynamic and safe indoor and outdoor environments that encourage exploration, creativity, and learning through play.
  • Build and nurture strong, respectful partnerships with families by providing open communication and involving them meaningfully in their child's educational experiences.
  • Collaborate actively with colleagues to cultivate a positive, inclusive, and reflective early learning culture that promotes team development and shared goals.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and regulatory requirements, ensuring a secure, welcoming, and nurturing environment that upholds Reddam House’s exemplary standards of child care.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute innovative ideas that enhance the learning environment and teaching practices.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Strong understanding of child-led and inquiry-based learning methodologies, with a commitment to the Reggio Emilia philosophy.
  • Experience in early childhood education, with a demonstrated passion for supporting young children’s development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build collaborative relationships with colleagues, children, and families.
  • Adaptability and openness to continuous professional development, staying updated on best practices in early childhood education.
  • Ability to contribute to team planning and work collaboratively to create a positive, inclusive environment.

QUALIFICATIONS 
 

  • Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or actively working towards these qualifications.
  • Applicants will be required to be ACECQA approved 
  • Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) or the ability to obtain one.
