ROLE SUMMARY:
Founded in 1989, Blue Valley is a private, bilingual, Pre-k through 12th-grade school with over 800 students that offers a challenging combination of Costa Rican and International curricula promoting technology, the arts, and physical wellbeing.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Spanish Teacher to join our team in January 2025. As a Spanish Teacher, you will be responsible for educating and guiding young students in their academic and personal development. You will create lesson plans, teach various subjects, evaluate student progress, and communicate with parents and school administrators.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create and implement engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans for students in Spanish.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including visual aids, technology, and hands-on activities.
- Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, empathy, and cooperation among students.
- Evaluate student progress and provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents through regular assessments, reports, and conferences.
- Collaborate with other teachers and school administrators to develop and implement school-wide policies and programs that support student success.
- Attend and participate in professional development opportunities, including workshops, conferences, and staff meetings.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and behavior.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or license.
- Strong knowledge of current educational trends and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and situations.
- A passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
