PE Teacher

ROLE SUMMARY:

The International School of Siena opened in 2010 and has built a strong reputation for academic excellence, holistic development, and international-mindedness. The school offers the full International Baccalaureate (IB) continuum from Early Years to Diploma Programme, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where inquiry, collaboration, and physical wellbeing are central to learning. We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced PE Teacher to teach across the PYP, MYP, and DP. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and inclusive PE lessons that promote physical fitness, teamwork, leadership, and lifelong healthy habits. You will play a key role in developing the PE curriculum across the IB continuum and supporting school sports teams, tournaments, and events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plan, deliver, and assess engaging PE lessons across PYP, MYP, and DP according to IB philosophy.
• Promote physical fitness, wellbeing, teamwork, and leadership skills in students.
• Organise and supervise school sports events, teams, and extracurricular activities.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of learners with varying abilities and interests.
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate physical education across the curriculum.
• Maintain and develop PE equipment, resources, and facilities.
• Participate in professional learning to enhance pedagogy and subject knowledge.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
• A bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sport Science, or a closely related field.
• Experience teaching PE across the IB continuum (PYP, MYP, and DP preferred).
• Strong knowledge of sports, fitness, and health education.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and collaboration skills.
• Enthusiasm for contributing to school life through sports, clubs, and community events.
