PERSON PROFILE:

You are an experienced Middle Years Programme Coordinator/educator with experience of teaching within the IB MYP, a strong background in concept and inquiry-based teaching and learning and MYP assessment strategies.

You are a dynamic teacher-leader with experience of enabling students and teachers to achieve their potential. You demonstrate experience, enthusiasm and a passion for teaching and teacher training, to inspire our students with a love of learning and to lead our teachers in the development of IB pedagogical teaching methodologies. You are a team player who can work within a small but busy school, collaborating with teachers to support the development of a rigorous inquiry-based curriculum with strong assessment practices and a culture of lifelong learning.

Ideally you:

  • are a member of the IB Educators Network as a workshop leader, examiner and/or school evaluation team member;
  • have strong understanding of MYP e assessment, CAT 4 testing and data tracking to improve challenge and progress desirable;

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supporting a positive school community by implementing IS Siena’s Positive Behaviour Policy and PSHE programme.
  • Leading MYP teaching and learning for Grades 7-11, embedding IB and Inspired best practices and meeting IB Standards and Practices.
  • Ensuring the social and emotional wellbeing of Grades 7-11 students, including pastoral support and Team around the Child assistance.
  • Coordinating and supporting student preparation for e-assessments and portfolios.
  • Supporting the implementation of the Community Project, Personal Project, and Service as Action within the MYP.
  • Organising residential field trips for each grade level to enhance ATL skills and curriculum links and providing alternative programmes for those unable to attend.
  • Collaborating with the librarian, EAL, and LS teams to provide teacher training and student support, including identifying students needing challenge and extension.
  • Working closely with PYP and DP Coordinators and Middle Leadership to ensure a well-planned vertical curriculum supporting academic excellence from KG-13.
  • Liaising with PYP and DP Coordinators and the admissions department to facilitate smooth student transitions between programmes and schools.
  • Contributing to school development by actively participating in staff professional development.
  • Offering an extracurricular activity that complements or extends current offerings and co-leading the Secondary School student council.
