ROLE SUMMARY:
King’s College, Soto de Viñuelas – a leading British international school in Madrid – is seeking to appoint a Permanent Secondary Cover Teacher to join our team for the 2025/26 academic year.
This is a full-time, permanent role ideal for a qualified teacher (UK QTS, Spanish CAP/Master, or equivalent), either British or Spanish, with a good level of English. While subject specialism is welcome, the primary responsibility is to provide short-term cover across the secondary school, ensuring continuity of learning during teacher absences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver lessons across various subjects as required due to staff absences (materials and planning are typically provided).

Maintain a productive and supportive classroom environment, ensuring students remain engaged and on-task.

Collaborate closely with heads of department and school leadership to provide effective support where needed.

Uphold school policies on behaviour and safeguarding while covering different classes.

Demonstrate flexibility, reliability, and a positive presence across the secondary team.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., UK QTS, Spanish teaching credentials, or international equivalent).

A high level of spoken and written English (C1 minimum).

A flexible, proactive, and team-oriented mindset.

Experience teaching or working in a school environment (preferred, but not essential).

Confidence in managing a classroom and following provided lesson plans.

Excellent time management and organisational skills.
