ROLE SUMMARY:
Australian International School (AIS) Saigon, a renowned international, co-educational K-13 school in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, has been educating young men and women for more than 16 years. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Use a range of instructional techniques and media consistent with available resources and student needs.
- Plan and prepare learning activities to guide students toward achieving curriculum objectives.
- Expand students' use of individual and collaborative strategies to generate concepts.
- Incorporate new technologies and tools into the creative process.
- Teach students how to identify elements of art and design and apply them to create concepts.
- Further students' knowledge of visual arts and media through art theory and history.
- Develop students' aesthetic understanding and appreciation to enable them to make qualitative judgments about art.
- Enable students to create a functional portfolio of their artworks.
- Plan and prepare art displays and exhibitions for the school and community.
- Evaluate each student's performance on a continual basis.
- Ensure that the required standards of classroom management and student behaviour are met.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A positive, child-centred individual with excellent communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts and Teaching Certification in Art.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with students.
- Qualified teaching certificate/licensure appropriate for grade level and subject area.
- Solid working knowledge of the concepts, activities, and techniques related to teaching Visual Arts at the required level.
- Experience in teaching IGCSE Cambridge and IB.
- Well-organised and versed in school management systems.
- Patient, flexible, and innovative, with a clear comprehension of how students learn.
- Team player, diplomatic, proactive and problem-solver.
