ROLE SUMMARY:
Founded in 1989, Blue Valley is a private, bilingual school offering Pre-K through 12th-grade education to over 800 students. It provides a challenging combination of Costa Rican and International curricula, promoting technology, the arts, and physical well-being.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Science Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching Science and will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons to students.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver Science Teacher lessons to students.
- Develop and deliver assessments to evaluate student learning and progress.
- Provide individualized support and feedback to students to enhance their understanding of Science concepts.
- Collaborate with other members of the teaching team to create engaging and interdisciplinary lessons that integrate with other subjects.
- Keep abreast of changes to the Science curriculum and update teaching materials as necessary.
- Participate in faculty meetings and professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide policies and procedures.
- Attend parent-teacher conferences to discuss student progress and provide feedback to parents.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Bachelor’s degree in Science Education or in a related field (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or General Science).

Valid teaching certification/license
- Proficiency in English.

Proven classroom teaching experience in science subjects (preferred).

Strong knowledge of curriculum standards and instructional best practices.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Proficiency in educational technology and digital tools for instruction and assessment.
