ROLE SUMMARY:

The Security Supervisor is responsible for ensuring a safe, healthy, hygienic and secure environment for the entire Picacho McGregor School community, including students, teaching and administrative staff, leadership and visitors.
Reporting to the Operations Director, the role is responsible for the implementation, supervision and continuous improvement of the school’s safety, civil protection and occupational health management practices. The position also oversees the Nursing area and coordinates emergency response to mitigate risks and incidents.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, update and implement the school’s Internal Civil Protection Program, as well as safety, hygiene and emergency response protocols for situations such as earthquakes, fires and other threats.
- Lead and coordinate the Nursing team, ensuring primary medical care, appropriate management of medical supplies and medications, and accurate health records for students and staff.
- Supervise the implementation of health and hygiene protocols across classrooms, common areas, cafeteria/dining areas and school transportation.
- Design and deliver periodic training on first aid, evacuation procedures, fire extinguisher use and risk prevention for school brigades and staff.
- Plan and coordinate mandatory emergency drills throughout the school year and promote a culture of prevention and self-protection across the school community.
- Investigate, record and analyse incidents and accidents within the school and implement appropriate corrective measures.
- Coordinate inspections from relevant authorities, including Civil Protection, the Ministry of Health and STPS, and ensure required documentation remains compliant and up to date.
- Verify the proper operation of CCTV cameras and alarm systems, conduct security rounds and supervise strategic areas inside and outside the school.
- Supervise and train private security personnel on surveillance and emergency-response protocols.
- Manage school access credentials and identification, and control access for visitors and suppliers.
- Maintain incident records and report relevant safety, health and infrastructure risks to school leadership.
- Coordinate and supervise traffic and security operations during student arrival and dismissal to support safe and efficient vehicle flow.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A Bachelor’s or Engineering degree in Industrial Safety, Civil Protection, Nursing, Administration or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in comprehensive workplace or school safety and hygiene management, institutional risk prevention, emergency brigade coordination and/or health or occupational service administration.
- Experience with video surveillance and access-control systems.
- Civil Protection, STPS regulations, Advanced First Aid and/or Basic Life Support certifications are desirable.
- Strong situational leadership and teamwork skills.
- Ability to make critical decisions under pressure and effectively manage crises and emergencies.
- Strong communication, negotiation, conflict-resolution, organisational and strategic planning skills.
- Experience or capability in managing road safety and vehicle flow.
- A high level of responsibility, professional ethics and a people-focused approach to basic medical care.
