We are seeking for a dedicated and student-centered Math Workshop Assistant to support the delivery of mathematics instruction within the Primary School. Working closely with the Lead Mathematics Teacher, the successful candidate will help create an engaging Montessori learning environment that fosters curiosity, independence, critical thinking, and a love of learning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the preparation, organization, and maintenance of the mathematics learning environment, ensuring materials and resources are accessible.
- Assist students through observation, guidance, and individualized support, encouraging self-directed learning and independence.
- Collaborate with the Lead Mathematics Teacher in the implementation of practical, hands-on learning experiences that help students understand mathematical concepts through concrete exploration.
- Encourage students to develop autonomy, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and self-confidence in their learning.
- Participate in the ongoing observation, monitoring, and assessment of student progress, maintaining accurate records and supporting feedback processes.
- Contribute to the planning and implementation of Daily Math activities aligned with curriculum objectives and expected learning outcomes.
- Maintain records of student work, presentations, attendance, and development as required by the school and the Lead Teacher.
- Support classroom organization, learning materials, and resource management, ensuring a well-prepared learning environment throughout the school year.
- Collaborate with teachers, learning support staff, and the wider school community to support student success and wellbeing.
- Participate actively in school events, professional development opportunities, meetings, and training sessions as required.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Primary Education, Psychology, Psychopedagogy, or a related field.
- Previous experience supporting students in an academic setting, preferably within a primary or early years environment.
- An understanding of Montessori philosophy and student-centered learning approaches.
- Strong classroom management and student support skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities with students, colleagues, and families.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Strong organizational skills, emotional intelligence, flexibility, resilience, and a collaborative mindset.
- Intermediate English proficiency is desirable.
