Picacho McGregor School is seeking a Head Coach to join our After School team and support the preparation, development and delivery of football training sessions and matches. The Head Coach will work closely with the coaching team to provide strategic, technical and motivational support to players, contributing to their physical, technical and tactical development. The role will also promote teamwork, discipline and continuous improvement, supporting both the sporting and personal development of students and the achievement of the team’s objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the planning, delivery and evaluation of engaging and effective football training sessions.
- Contribute to the physical, technical and tactical development of students, adapting coaching to the needs of the assigned age group.
- Lead training sessions when required, creating a positive environment that promotes teamwork, discipline, respect and continuous improvement.
- Support the preparation and delivery of internal and external matches, tournaments and sporting events.
- Work collaboratively with the wider coaching team and After School Coordination to ensure consistency and alignment across the football programme.
- Provide ongoing guidance, motivation and support to players, contributing to both their sporting and personal development.
- Support the operational and logistical requirements of the programme, including the management of sports equipment and the recording of training sessions and matches using Veo.
- Ensure sports equipment and resources are appropriately maintained and ready for use before and after each training session.
- Participate actively in technical meetings, internal training and professional development activities.
- Support the delivery of the MARCET Winter Camp and other scheduled football activities and events.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A degree in Physical Education (LEF), Sports Training or a related field.
- Previous experience in football coaching and sports management.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate, guide and positively engage players.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider team.
- A proactive, organized and responsible approach to their work.
- A strong commitment to the sporting and personal development of students.
- The ability to create a positive team environment that promotes respect, discipline, teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Spanish language proficiency.
- Flexibility to work the required After School schedule, including Saturdays when matches or events are scheduled.
