We are seeking an exceptional Drama Teacher to deliver drama classes for a set number of teaching hours per week. The successful candidate will inspire students through engaging and creative lessons, fostering self-expression, confidence, collaboration, and communication skills. Experience teaching drama in a school setting and a passion for developing young performers through the arts are essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and deliver engaging and inspiring Drama lessons for students across the assigned year groups.
- Foster creativity, confidence, collaboration, and self-expression through a dynamic performing arts curriculum.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment where all students feel encouraged to participate.
- Develop students' acting, movement, voice, improvisation, and performance skills through a variety of teaching approaches.
- Organise and support school productions, performances, showcases, and other performing arts events as required.
- Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records of achievement.
- Adapt lessons to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to cross-curricular initiatives and the wider life of the school.
- Maintain high standards of classroom management and student wellbeing in line with school policies.
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development opportunities, and other school activities as appropriate.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- A Bachelor's degree in Drama, Theatre, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field.
- A recognised teaching qualification (preferred).
- Previous experience teaching Drama in a school environment.
- A passion for inspiring young people through the performing arts.
- Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.
- The ability to motivate students of varying ages, abilities, and confidence levels.
- Experience directing or supporting school productions, performances, or theatre projects.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work independently and manage a flexible teaching schedule.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
- Fluency in English; experience in bilingual or international school settings is an advantage.
