We are seeking an exceptional Cheerleading Coach to lead cheerleading sessions for a set number of coaching hours per week. The successful candidate will inspire students to develop athletic ability, confidence, teamwork, and school spirit through engaging training sessions while promoting a safe, positive, and inclusive environment for all participants.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and deliver engaging cheerleading training sessions for students across the assigned age groups.
  • Teach and develop cheerleading fundamentals, including motions, jumps, stunts, tumbling (where appropriate), dance, and performance techniques.
  • Foster teamwork, discipline, leadership, confidence, and school spirit through structured coaching.
  • Create a safe and inclusive training environment, ensuring all activities follow appropriate safety standards and best practices.
  • Choreograph routines and prepare students for school performances, sporting events, competitions, and other special events as required.
  • Adapt coaching techniques to accommodate students with varying skill levels and experience.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to support individual development.
  • Collaborate with school staff and other coaches to support the wider extracurricular and athletics programme.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure all sessions are conducted in accordance with school policies and safeguarding procedures.
  • Participate in school meetings, professional development opportunities, and other school activities as appropriate.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • A background in Cheerleading, Dance, Gymnastics, Sports Coaching, Physical Education, or a related field.
  • Previous experience coaching cheerleading in a school, club, or competitive environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cheerleading techniques, stunt progression, choreography, and safety practices.
  • Experience preparing teams for performances, sporting events, and/or competitions.
  • A passion for developing young athletes while promoting confidence, teamwork, and resilience.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
  • The ability to motivate and engage students of different ages and abilities.
  • Current first aid and/or cheerleading safety certifications are an advantage.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
