We are seeking a passionate and creative Part-Time Art Teacher to inspire students through visual arts and artistic expression. The successful candidate will foster creativity, imagination, and technical skills while creating engaging learning experiences that encourage students to explore a variety of artistic mediums and develop confidence in their artistic abilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and deliver engaging art lessons that promote creativity, artistic exploration, and skill development across a range of visual art disciplines.
  • Teach students fundamental and advanced techniques in drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and other visual arts practices.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to express themselves creatively and take artistic risks.
  • Differentiate instruction to support students with varying artistic abilities, interests, and learning needs.
  • Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to support artistic growth and achievement.
  • Organize, maintain, and manage art materials, equipment, and classroom resources in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Support and contribute to school exhibitions, showcases, art displays, and other events that celebrate student creativity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that integrate the arts into the wider curriculum.
  • Foster an appreciation for art history, cultural diversity, and contemporary artistic practices.
  • Uphold the school's safeguarding, health and safety, and educational policies at all times.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Graphic Design, Visual Communication Design, Visual Arts, Fine Arts, Painting, Sculpture, or a related field.
  • Previous teaching experience in Art, Visual Arts, or Creative Arts within a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of a variety of artistic techniques, mediums, and creative processes.
  • Ability to inspire creativity, confidence, and artistic expression in students of different ages and abilities.
  • Experience planning engaging, student-centered learning experiences.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage materials, projects, and exhibitions effectively.
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school community.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, student wellbeing, and inclusive educational practices.
  • Fluency in English and/or Spanish, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
