ROLE SUMMARY:

King’s College School, Cascais, part of the prestigious Inspired Education Group, is seeking an exceptional History Teacher. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver outstanding teaching at IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) level while contributing to curriculum development and driving innovation within the Humanities Department. The successful candidate will inspire a love for history, promote academic excellence, and foster critical thinking and global awareness among students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality History lessons at IB Diploma Programme level, ensuring students achieve their academic potential.
  • Foster historical inquiry, critical thinking, and analytical skills through innovative teaching and learning strategies.
  • Track, evaluate, and report on student progress, ensuring timely feedback and targeted interventions.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and the ongoing improvement of schemes of work, resources, and assessment practices.
  • Encourage students to participate in extracurricular activities, such as history clubs, debates, and academic competitions.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
  • Utilize digital tools and platforms to enhance the teaching and learning experience.
  • Contribute to the broader school community by supporting events, workshops, and parent engagement activities.

 

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • A degree in History or a closely related discipline, along with a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS).
  • Proven experience teaching History at IB Diploma Programme level, with a track record of excellent student outcomes.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring students to understand and appreciate historical perspectives.
  • A commitment to promoting critical thinking, global awareness, and intellectual curiosity.
  • Confidence in integrating technology into lessons to create interactive and dynamic learning experiences.
  • A collaborative approach, with a willingness to contribute to the school’s culture of innovation and academic excellence.
