ROLE SUMMARY:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced IB Physics Teacher to join our dynamic team and inspire the next generation of scientists. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality, engaging, and challenging Physics teaching across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, fostering a love of learning and scientific inquiry. They will ensure strong foundations in Physics from Key Stage 3, prepare students for success at IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) levels, and align their practice with the Inspired Teacher Standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver high-quality and engaging lessons across relevant key stages, ensuring students develop a strong conceptual and practical understanding of the subject.
- Plan, prepare, and implement effective schemes of work aligned with IGCSE and IBDP curriculum standards and best international teaching practices.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs, abilities, and learning styles of all students.
- Use varied and rigorous assessment strategies — including formative feedback, practical tasks, and examination-style questions — to monitor and support student progress.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and scientific inquiry.
- Integrate educational technologies (e.g., Canvas LMS, Century Tech, VR) to enhance engagement and learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues through departmental planning, moderation, and professional discussions to ensure curriculum consistency and innovation.
- Engage in continuous professional development (CPD) and reflective practice to improve teaching effectiveness and student achievement.
- Support student wellbeing by acting as a form tutor or pastoral mentor and maintaining positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Contribute to the wider school community by participating in extracurricular, enrichment, and science-related activities that extend learning beyond the classroom.
