ROLE SUMMARY:

 

King’s College Latvia is seeking an experienced, dedicated, and student-centered Key Stage 5 Coordinator to support the delivery and development of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). The successful candidate will have specific responsibility for Careers and University Counselling, Student Support and Learning Accommodations, and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS). The ideal candidate must also be qualified and experienced to teach at least one IBDP subject.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deputy IBDP Coordination

  • Support the IBDP Coordinator in the strategic and operational leadership of the Diploma Programme.
  • Ensure compliance with IB standards and practices, and step in as acting Coordinator when needed.
  • Facilitate communication between staff, students, and parents for smooth programme delivery.

Careers and University Counselling

  • Coordinate with the remote counsellor to deliver tailored university and career guidance.
  • Assist with writing references, reviewing personal statements, and managing applications (e.g., UCAS, Common App).
  • Organise university visits, career talks, and the annual university fair.

Student Support and Learning Accommodations

  • Oversee identification and support for students with learning or social-emotional needs.
  • Develop and monitor Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and manage IB access arrangement requests.
  • Collaborate with the wellbeing counsellor to enhance student wellbeing and engagement.

CAS Programme Leadership

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the CAS programme.
  • Support students with CAS reflections and ensure accurate documentation and assessment.
  • Coordinate school-wide CAS initiatives and community service opportunities.

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Teach a minimum of one IBDP subject, delivering high-quality, IB-aligned lessons.
  • Participate in curriculum development and departmental collaboration.

Examinations

  • Work with the Head of School to coordinate exam and invigilation timetables.
  • Provide support during IBDP mocks and exams, especially for access arrangement students.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • Experience teaching in the IB Diploma Programme.

  • Strong understanding of IB philosophy, standards, and practices.

  • Proven ability to support students with university and career planning across diverse destinations.

  • Experience in managing or supporting learning accommodations and wellbeing initiatives.

  • Familiarity with global university application systems (e.g., UCAS, Common App, etc.).

  • Ability to coordinate CAS and guide students through the reflection and documentation process.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, parents, and staff.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

  • Willingness to collaborate closely with remote colleagues and lead whole-school initiatives.

  • A passion for student development, community engagement, and holistic education.
