ROLE SUMMARY:

 

King’s College British School of Latvia seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic General Science Teacher to join our exceptional team. This role involves teaching Physics, Biology, and Chemistry to Key Stage 3 students. You will work with well-behaved, motivated students in a highly resourced department with excellent facilities. Our Science department leads the way in utilizing the Global Study Platform (Canvas) and integrating VR and AR technologies, making this an exciting time to join our forward-thinking team. This vacancy has arisen due to restructuring to provide additional leadership time for senior leaders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Plan and deliver high-quality General Science lessons to Key Stage 3 students.
  • Use the Canvas learning platform effectively to structure and deliver lessons.
  • Incorporate VR and AR technologies to enhance student learning.
  • Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including SEN and high-achieving students.
  • Develop engaging and innovative curriculum content in line with school objectives.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment.
  • Engage in pastoral duties, promoting student welfare and development.
  • Contribute to the wider school community, including trips and extracurricular activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to promote best practices and continuous improvement.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • A recognized teaching qualification and relevant degree in Science.
  • Experience teaching Physics, Biology, and Chemistry at Key Stage 3 level.
  • A growth mindset and commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Experience or interest in integrating technology, such as Canvas, VR, and AR, into teaching.
