ROLE SUMMARY:
King's College Latvia is an International School situated on the outskirts of the culturally vibrant capital city of Riga.
Established six years ago, King's College Latvia has seen rapid growth in student numbers. The school has excellent sporting facilities for its size including outside sports areas, two swimming pools, a weights gym, a dance room and a large multi-purpose indoor gymnasium. We actively encourage experiential learning outside the classroom and frequently use a private forest situated near the school grounds to support curricular learning.

We are now seeking an enthusiastic Assistant PE teacher with a specialism in swimming to expand our Physical Education department. The school follows the English National Curriculum through our Primary phase; working towards IGCSEs in KS3 and KS4, followed by the IBDP in Years 12 and 13.
The expected gross salary range for this role is 22,000 EUR to 25,000 EUR per annum
The ideal candidate will be available to start working with us anytime between now and the 30th October 2023.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To support the PE department in facilitating excellent sports teaching
- To be proactive and share ideas for improvements in the sports programme
- To be an active member of the PE department team
- To form trusting and supporting relationships with students during sporting activities
- To work with the PE teachers to develop the school swimming programme
- To monitor and record the quality of the water and temperature in the swimming pool
- To teach swimming lessons to students from 3 to 18 years of age
- To supervise students, ensuring a high level of health and safety
- To meet the emotional and physical needs of our students during their PE lessons
- To fully participate in the life of the school, including attending department meetings, running after school activities (within contracted hours) and attending out of hours fixtures.
- To manage swimming pool equipment and prepare resources.
