ROLE SUMMARY:

 

Khalil Gibran School Rabat (KGSR) is a vibrant school offering a premium British-style and Moroccan education to both expatriate and local students in Morocco. KGSR is a community school with a strong and growing reputation thanks to its pedagogical approach, progressive approach and holistic education philosophy. The school is seeking a pioneering practitioner who is passionate about their subject and wishes to broaden their own experience within an innovative, friendly and collaborative environment.

 

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Teaching Asisstant with relevant experience and qualifications required to join immediately. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

A Teaching Assistant  supports the lead teacher in delivering lessons, managing classroom activities, and providing individualized assistance to students. The role involves helping with lesson preparation, supporting students academically and socially, and maintaining a positive and organized classroom environment. TAs also assist with grading, behavior management, and supervision during non-instructional periods. This position plays a vital role in ensuring that students receive the attention they need to succeed while promoting an inclusive and effective learning environment.

 

  1. Support Instruction: Assist the teacher in delivering lessons and activities, helping students with tasks, assignments, and concepts they may find challenging.

  2. Classroom Management: Help maintain a positive and focused classroom environment, ensuring students stay on task and follow behavioral expectations.

  3. One-on-One and Small Group Assistance: Provide individualized support to students, particularly those who require extra help or have learning needs.

  4. Grading and Record-Keeping: Assist with grading assignments, tests, and quizzes, and help maintain accurate records of student progress and performance.

  5. Prepare Teaching Materials: Help organize and prepare classroom resources, learning materials, and educational tools for lessons and activities.

  6. Student Supervision: Monitor and supervise students during breaks, lunchtime, or other non-classroom periods, ensuring a safe and orderly environment.

  7. Encourage Student Engagement: Foster a supportive and motivating environment where students feel comfortable participating and asking questions.

  8. Communication with Teachers: Collaborate with the lead teacher to discuss student progress, challenges, and feedback.

  9. Support Diverse Learning Needs: Assist in adapting lessons and activities to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with special educational needs.

  10. Assist with Administrative Tasks: Help with other tasks as required, such as organizing classroom supplies or supporting school events.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • A relevant qualification in supporting educational needs
  • At least 3 years experience in working with young people
  • Is confident with the use of IT
  • Excellent Microsoft skills
