ROLE SUMMARY:
Khalil Gibran School (KGS) is a British international school based in the Souissi district of Rabat, offering an English National Curriculum pathway from Early Years through to the Primary and Secondary years. The school is committed to providing a nurturing, high-quality learning environment in which every child is known, valued, and supported to achieve their full potential. The Early Years setting follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, providing a rich, play-based foundation for children's academic, social, and emotional development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching & Learning
- Plan/deliver EYFS lessons across the 7 areas of learning.
- Create a safe, stimulating learning environment.
- Adapt strategies for all needs (SEN/EAL); use play-based, enquiry-led methods.
- Assess and record progress via EYFS Profile; prepare children for Year 1.
Pastoral & Safeguarding
- Ensure children's welfare/safety per Safeguarding Policy.
- Build an inclusive classroom with clear behaviour expectations.
- Keep accurate records; report concerns promptly.
Classroom & Team
- Manage teaching assistants; maintain an organised classroom.
- Collaborate with EYFS colleagues on curriculum.
Communication
- Build parent relationships (meetings, reports).
- Support school events; liaise with SLT/specialist staff.
Professional Development
- Engage in appraisal/CPD; stay current on EYFS/safeguarding; attend training.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Qualifications & Experience
- Recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, B.Ed, or equivalent) with EYFS specialism.
- Proven EYFS teaching experience; British curriculum/international school experience a plus.
- Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework, seven areas of learning, and assessment practices.
- Clean enhanced background check (or willingness to obtain one).
Skills & Personal Attributes

- Strong classroom management; calm, positive environment.
- Excellent communication with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Creative, patient, flexible, and reflective approach.
- Fluent English essential; French/Arabic an advantage.
- Strong commitment to safeguarding.
