ROLE SUMMARY:

Khalil Gibran School Rabat (KGSR) is a vibrant and community-oriented institution offering premium British-style and Moroccan education to both local and expatriate students. We are currently seeking a Teacher Assistant to support teachers in delivering high-quality lessons and to help students in their academic and personal development. The successful candidate will assist in classroom activities, provide individualized support when needed, and contribute to fostering a positive and engaging learning environment.

The ideal candidate will be collaborative, adaptable, and supportive, ensuring that students feel encouraged and safe. The post holder will also help monitor and report on students’ progress, while assisting teachers in maintaining high standards of learning, discipline, and safeguarding.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support the teacher in preparing and delivering engaging lessons across different subjects.
• Assist individual students or small groups to reinforce learning concepts and provide additional guidance.
• Contribute to maintaining a positive classroom environment and ensuring discipline and safeguarding standards.
• Help with classroom organization, materials preparation, and administrative tasks.
• Supervise students during lessons, activities, and school breaks as required.
• Observe, monitor, and provide feedback to the teacher on student progress and areas needing support.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, parents, and the wider school community to promote student well-being and growth.
• Encourage students to develop independence, confidence, and positive social interactions.
• Support inclusion by assisting students with additional learning needs.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Relevant experience working with children, ideally in a school or educational setting. 
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and professional conduct expectations in schools. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents. 
• A warm, patient, and proactive approach, with high expectations for pupil behaviour and engagement. 
• Flexibility and a collaborative mindset, with willingness to support across a range of classroom and school activities. 
• Ability to support learning effectively in both group and one-to-one settings, including behaviour and classroom management. 
• Experience in an international or diverse school environment (desirable). 
• Additional language skills relevant to the school location (advantageous but not essential).
