Physical Education Teacher

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Physical Education Teacher delivers an inclusive sports program from Primary to A-Level, integrating the Cambridge and Moroccan National curricula. The role requires a versatile educator who drives school spirit through competitive team management, major event coordination, and a vibrant extracurricular culture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Curriculum Delivery & Pedagogy :

Plan and deliver dynamic, inclusive, and challenging P.E. lessons to students from Primary (Key Stage 1 & 2) through to Secondary (IGCSE/A-Level). 

Adapt instructional methods to satisfy the requirements of both the Cambridge International Curriculum and the Moroccan National Curriculum. 

Promote physical literacy, teamwork, sportsmanship, and lifelong healthy habits among all students. 

Teach a broad and balanced programme covering team games, athletics, gymnastics, health-related fitness. 

• Extracurricular & Whole-School Impact : 

Organise, coordinate, and lead after-school sports clubs and training sessions. 

Manage and coach school teams, facilitating inter-school sports fixtures and local tournaments. 

Plan and execute major school events, such as annual Sports Days and health awareness weeks. 

Ensure the safe use, maintenance, and secure storage of all physical education equipment and facilities. 

• Assessment & Reporting :

Monitor and record student progress, fitness levels, and skill acquisition through ongoing assessments. 

Prepare students for the practical and theoretical components of Cambridge International examinations (IGCSE/A-Level Physical Education) where applicable. 

Provide constructive and detailed feedback to students, and communicate progress effectively to parents through formal reports and consultations.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Language Skills: Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in French or Arabic is highly beneficial given the school's bilingual environment.
• Education:  A Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a closely related field. A PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification is highly desirable.
• Experience: Proven experience delivering P.E. in a school environment, ideally with exposure to both Primary and Secondary age groups..
• Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with the Cambridge International framework. Understanding of the Moroccan National system is a distinct advantage.
