ROLE SUMMARY:
The Philosophy Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, rigorous instruction in philosophy, fostering critical thinking, ethical reasoning, and reflective dialogue among students. The teacher plans and delivers lessons aligned with curriculum standards, assesses student learning, and creates an inclusive classroom environment that encourages inquiry, debate, and intellectual growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver philosophy lessons in Arabic in alignment with the official national curriculum set by the Ministry of National Education (Ministère de l'Éducation Nationale).
- Cover all prescribed thematic areas including logic and argumentation, epistemology, ethics, political philosophy, metaphysics, and Islamic thought.
- Prepare students effectively for the Baccalauréat examination, with particular attention to the national essay (dissertation philosophique) and text commentary (explication de texte) formats.
- Develop students' capacity for structured critical thinking, rational argumentation, and independent intellectual inquiry in line with the Vision Stratégique 2015–2030 reform goals.
- Foster respect for human rights values, citizenship, and civic responsibility as integrated dimensions of philosophical education.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, submit grades and participate in end-of-year deliberations.
- Collaborate with school administration and participate in pedagogical councils (conseils pédagogiques) and professional development activities organized by the Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF).

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Philosophy (or related field).
- Teaching qualification/certification is preferred.
