ROLE SUMMARY:
The Music Teacher will be responsible for designing and delivering a high-quality music program across Primary and Secondary levels, bridging the Cambridge International framework with the Moroccan National curriculum. The successful candidate will foster a vibrant arts culture by leading extracurricular ensembles, directing school performances, and integrating diverse musical traditions. Beyond the classroom, this role is vital in promoting the school’s cultural identity and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment for all students through a strong commitment to safeguarding.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Curriculum Delivery & Pedagogy
Plan and deliver engaging music lessons to students from Primary through to Secondary.
Adapt teaching styles to meet the requirements of the Cambridge International Curriculum and the Moroccan National Curriculum.
Foster a love for music through a balance of performance, composition, listening, and appraisal.
Integrate Moroccan musical heritage with Western classical and contemporary traditions to reflect the school’s diverse cultural identity.
2. Extracurricular & Whole-School Impact
Organise and lead school choirs, ensembles, or bands.
Direct musical performances for school assemblies, seasonal concerts, and graduation ceremonies.
Manage and maintain the music department’s instruments and technical equipment.
Support the school’s ethos by promoting a vibrant arts culture across both the Moroccan and International sections.
3. Assessment & Reporting
Monitor student progress through regular formative and summative assessments.
Provide detailed feedback to parents and students during parent-teacher consultations and through formal reports.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Language Skills: Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in French or Arabic is highly beneficial given the school's bilingual environment.
Musical Proficiency: Strong keyboard and guitar skills for classroom accompaniment, alongside a high level of vocal or instrumental competence.
Adaptability: The ability to pivot between the play-based learning of Primary students and the rigorous academic demands of Secondary exam cohorts.
Cultural Intelligence: A respect for and interest in the local Moroccan culture, blended with an international mindset.
Collaborative Spirit: A willingness to work closely with the Performing Arts team and the wider school community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Music or Music Education.
A PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification is highly desirable.
Experience: Proven experience teaching music in a school setting, ideally across both Primary and Secondary levels.
Curriculum Knowledge: Familiarity with the Cambridge International framework. Understanding of the Moroccan National system is a distinct advantage.
