We are excited to be accepting applications for the Head of ELS and Primary. This position will start in September 2025.

 

The Head of Primary and Early Learning School (ELS) is a senior leadership position responsible for the strategic direction, leadership, and day-to-day management of the Primary and ELS phases across our international school. This includes overseeing the trilingual pathway that integrates the British and Moroccan curricula, with English, French, and Arabic as first and second languages. The Head of Primary and ELS will ensure high standards of education, effective teaching and learning, student welfare, and continuous improvement. The role demands strong leadership and a commitment to fostering an inclusive, bilingual, and multicultural learning environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Provide strategic leadership for Primary and ELS, aligning with the school’s vision.
  • Develop and implement action plans to achieve school-wide improvements.
  • Represent Primary and ELS in senior leadership decisions.
  • Oversee curriculum planning and assessment, integrating British and Moroccan frameworks.
  • Ensure teaching quality through evaluation and staff professional development.
  • Foster student progress with a balanced, inclusive curriculum.
  • Lead and support staff, ensuring collaboration and high teaching standards.
  • Promote inclusion and multilingual competence in English, French, and Arabic.
  • Build strong parent partnerships through communication and engagement.
  • Drive continuous improvement via self-evaluation and innovation.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • A recognised qualification in Education (e.g., PGCE, Masters in Education, or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in a leadership role within a Primary and Early Learning context, ideally in an international school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of both the British and International curricula, with experience in bilingual/multilingual education.
  • Proven experience in leading and managing teams of educators, fostering professional growth, and driving school improvement.
  • Knowledge of best practices in Early Years education, curriculum development, and child-centred pedagogies.
  • Strong understanding of the developmental needs of children in the Primary and Early Years stages, particularly in a trilingual educational context.

Desirable Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in leading a diverse and multilingual student body, with an emphasis on language acquisition and cultural understanding.
  • Strong skills in data analysis, curriculum design, and monitoring educational progress.
  • Experience with international accreditation and external evaluation processes.
