ROLE SUMMARY:

 

Khalil Gibran School Rabat (KGSR) is a vibrant school offering a premium British-style and Moroccan education to both expatriate and local students in Morocco. KGSR is a community school with a strong and growing reputation thanks to its pedagogical approach, progressive approach and holistic education philosophy. The school is seeking a pioneering practitioner who is passionate about their subject and wishes to broaden their own experience within an innovative, friendly and collaborative environment.

 

We have a fantastic opportunity for a French Teacher, with experience and qualifications in teaching middle school Cambridge system to join this successful and growing team in March 2025.

 

This position would suit someone with experience in teaching, who is seeking further development and exposure to International School.       

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and comprehensive English language and literature lessons to secondary students, aligned with curriculum standards and learning objectives.
  • Teach students reading comprehension, writing skills, grammar, vocabulary, and literary analysis through a variety of instructional strategies and activities.
  • Introduce students to a wide range of literary genres, authors, and texts, fostering an appreciation for literature and critical thinking skills.
  • Utilize technology, multimedia resources, and authentic materials to enhance instruction and promote student engagement and understanding. Assess student learning and progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including English language learners, students with special needs, and advanced learners. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and supported in their language and literary exploration.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that integrate English language arts with other subject areas
  • Stay informed about current trends, developments, and best practices in English language teaching and literature studies, incorporating relevant information into lesson plans and activities.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills, pedagogical knowledge, and content expertise in English language arts.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in teaching the subject.
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject area from an international university
  • Successful experience in working in an international school with pupils in the age group you are teaching subject
  • Experience delivering at French at middle school level using Cambridge curriculum
  • Demonstrated experience in inspiring pupils in a stimulating learning
  • Environment Demonstrated experience of using ICT to promote learning
  • Ability to analyze student data to support student achievement 
  • Demonstrated experience in raising achievement and setting challenging targets
  • Strong commitment to supporting all aspects of our program, especially through participating actively in the extra-curricular activities and contributing to the life of the school community
