English Teacher (Maternity Cover)

ROLE SUMMARY:

Khalil Gibran School Rabat (KGSR) is a vibrant school offering a premium British-style and Moroccan education to both expatriate and local students in Morocco. We have an exciting opportunity for an English Teacher to join our team. The English Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students following both the Moroccan and Cambridge curriculam. This includes tailoring lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners, fostering a positive and engaging classroom environment, and ensuring students' academic growth across different assessment systems. The teacher will play a key role in developing students' language skills, promoting critical thinking, and preparing them for academic success in both local and international contexts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and deliver dynamic English lessons tailored to students’ individual learning needs.

• Monitor, assess, and support student progress to ensure academic achievement.

• Create a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.

• Adhere to school policies and actively promote student wellbeing and safeguarding.

• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain consistency and high standards in teaching and learning.

• Maintain accurate student records and ensure regular, effective communication with parents.

• Participate fully in school meetings, events, and professional development activities.

• Lead or support at least one extra-curricular activity per week.

• Serve as a Form Tutor, overseeing daily attendance and providing pastoral support.

• Contribute to whole-school improvement initiatives and promote a positive image of the school

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• Deliver engaging English lessons aligned with both the Moroccan and Cambridge curricula.

• Hold a relevant teaching qualification (TEFL, PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent) in the subject or age group.

• Possess a minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience in an international or UK school setting (3 years preferred).

• Demonstrate strong IT skills and effective use of technology in teaching.

• Uphold high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct with students, staff, and parents.

• Actively participate in staff training, meetings, school events, and special initiatives.

• Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to support strategic planning and school development.

• Fully adhere to school policies and guidelines as outlined in the Staff Handbook.
