Director of Sixth Form

ROLE SUMMARY:

We are excited to be accepting applications for a Director of Sixth form to join us in September 2025. In addition to the responsibilities of all teachers, the Director of sixth form will lead and manage the sixth form in academic and pastoral provision, as well as University guidance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop a strategic vision for the 6th Form aligned with school policies.
• Oversee UCAS and university applications with the guidance team.
• Create careers education opportunities and manage events for Years 9-12.
• Monitor 6th Form standards, report progress to parents, and ensure timely assessments.
• Implement strategies from the Annual School Improvement Plan.
• Plan and deliver assemblies.
• Lead the UCAS process, monitor academic progress, and oversee pastoral care.
• Support Year 11 in the options process and manage escalated issues.
• Lead transcript creation, Crown Prince Scholarship prep, and reference writing.
• Negotiate with universities on entry requirements and manage applications.
• Develop careers and university guidance programs.
• Lead Oxbridge, Ivy League, and early decision applications.
• Communicate with universities, parents, and advise SLT on 6th Form matters.
• Analyze AS, A Level, and BTEC results and organize the Open Evening.
• Coordinate admissions and ensure smooth entry for new students.
• Lead and support 6th Form staff, ensuring continuous improvement.
• Efficiently deploy resources and oversee the induction of new staff.
• Collaborate with SLT on the strategic vision for the Senior School.
• Plan for future needs and contribute to evaluating the school’s effectiveness.
• Support all Leadership Team decisions and maintain professionalism.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• A relevant degree, PGCE, BEd, or equivalent, in the subject or age group you will teach.
• Proven experience teaching the British curriculum, with at least 2 years of teaching experience in the UK and a minimum of 3 years in an international school setting.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in managing both academic and pastoral provision for Sixth Form students.
• Expertise in providing University guidance and supporting students through the UCAS application process.
• Proficient in using IT in teaching and learning, with advanced skills in Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with educational apps and digital platforms for enhancing student engagement and learning is preferred.
• A commitment to developing a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for Sixth Form students.
