Join ACG Queenstown Early Learning School as an ECE Teacher where you'll help shape the foundational years of children aged 3months-6-year-olds through a rich, inquiry-based curriculum inspired by the NZ Reggio Emilia philosophy, RIE and Te Whāriki.
Located at 9 Copper Beech Avenue, Remarkable Park and 7 Henry Steet in Central Queenstown , our 2 purpose-built schools offers state-of-the-art facilities and a nurturing environment where educators and children thrive together.
We are seeking a qualified and passionate Early Years Teacher to join our Early Years team to teach our 3.5year to 6 year old kindy class. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a nurturing, inclusive, and engaging learning environment within a dynamic international school community. Full time, permanent postion based in Queenstown.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver high-quality, play-based Early Years education for children..
- Plan and implement engaging learning experiences that support holistic development (cognitive, social, emotional, and physical).
- Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and wellbeing.
- Observe, assess, and track children’s progress, using evidence to inform planning and next steps.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding children’s development and learning progress.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver consistent, high-quality Early Years provision.
- Support early language, communication, numeracy, and social development through structured and play-based activities.
- Contribute to the wider school community, including events, trips, and extracurricular activities.
- Implement safeguarding, behaviour, and pastoral care policies consistently.
- Reflect on practice and engage in continuous professional development to improve outcomes for learners.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Recognised Early Years teaching qualification.
- Experience working with children aged 2–5 in an Early Years or nursery setting.
- Understanding of child development and early years pedagogy, including knowledge of Reggio Emilia philosophy, RIE and Te Whāriki, or equivalent frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong classroom management, organisation, and planning skills with a focus on high-quality learning outcomes.
- A passionate, child-centred approach with the ability to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love of learning.
- A reflective and adaptable mindset, committed to continuous improvement and professional growth.
