ROLE SUMMARY:

St. Peter’s International School, located in Palmela near Lisbon, serves around 1,500 students from 4 months to 18 years on a modern 37,000 m² campus. The school offers a bilingual curriculum (Portuguese/English), Cambridge programmes, and the International Baccalaureate, alongside boarding options for older students. With excellent facilities, small class sizes, and a strong culture of academic excellence, St. Peter’s provides an inspiring environment for both students and teachers.

To join our team, we are looking for a well-qualified and talented Senior School Portuguese teacher who has a passion for the teaching and learning of these key subjects within our curriculum. The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge, and the ability to make the subjects come alive with inspirational and interactive lessons which challenge and support all pupils to secure the best possible outcomes. Training and experience of teaching Lower Senior School will be considered positively.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver high-quality, engaging, and interactive Portuguese lessons that inspire, challenge, and support all students.
Plan, prepare, and implement effective schemes of work aligned with the school’s curriculum and standards.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student well-being and academic excellence.
Contribute to the wider pastoral life of the school, supporting students’ personal and social development.
Use ICT effectively to enhance teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and senior leadership to ensure the best outcomes for students.
Engage in professional development, embracing innovation and continuously improving teaching practice.
