ROLE SUMMARY:

This is a casual position for local candidates from Panama City, Panama only.

As a Substitute Teacher, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity in the learning environment during the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Your responsibilities will include delivering pre-prepared lesson plans, managing classroom activities, and ensuring a positive and productive learning experience for students.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Instructional Delivery:

    • Implement lesson plans provided by the absent teacher, ensuring that the learning objectives are met.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
  2. Classroom Management:

    • Maintain order and discipline within the classroom, following the school's policies and procedures.
    • Address behavioral issues promptly and effectively, seeking assistance from school administrators when necessary.
  3. Student Engagement:

    • Interact with students in a positive and supportive manner, encouraging active participation in class activities.
    • Provide additional assistance to students as needed, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the material.
  4. Flexibility:

    • Adapt to different grade levels, subjects, and teaching styles based on the specific needs of each assignment.
    • Be prepared to take on short-notice assignments and demonstrate flexibility in scheduling.
  5. Professionalism:

    • Arrive on time and adhere to the school's dress code and professional standards.
    • Uphold confidentiality regarding sensitive student and school information.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (preferred).
  • Teaching certification or substitute teacher certification (as required by state or local regulations).
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment.
