ROLE SUMMARY:
Balboa Academy is a private school in Panama City, located in the heart of the capital's vibrant community. Offering students two diploma programs (US and Panamanian) and the only school in Panama to provide over 20 courses in their AP Program, our International School in Ciudad del Saber, Clayton is a beacon of educational excellence and a home for lifelong learners.
We are seeking an exceptional High School Mathematics Teacher to join our American international school community. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, standards-based instruction aligned with a U.S. curriculum and Advanced Placement (AP) courses, fostering strong analytical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and a deep conceptual understanding of mathematics. The ideal candidate will be committed to academic excellence, differentiated instruction, and preparing students for success in AP examinations and university pathways, while actively contributing to the broader life of the school through collaboration and extracurricular involvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and deliver high-quality mathematics instruction aligned with U.S. standards and the school’s curriculum framework.

Teach Advanced Placement (AP) Mathematics courses and prepare students effectively for AP examinations.

Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including EAL and students requiring additional support.

Develop engaging lesson plans that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application of mathematical concepts.

Design and implement formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.

Maintain accurate records of student achievement and provide timely feedback to students and parents.

Use data to inform instructional decisions and support student growth.

Contribute to curriculum development and vertical alignment within the Mathematics department.

Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and student enrichment opportunities.

Uphold safeguarding, professional conduct, and all school policies and procedures.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a closely related field (Master’s degree preferred).

Recognized teaching qualification and valid teaching license.

Experience teaching High School Mathematics within an American curriculum.

Proven experience teaching AP Mathematics courses (e.g., AP Calculus, AP Statistics).

Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills, with a commitment to academic excellence and student-centered learning.
