ROLE SUMMARY:

St. Peter’s International School is seeking a highly organised and proactive Transport Monitor to provide exceptional administrative and operational support to our school community.  

 

The Transport Monitor is responsible for ensuring the safety, well-being, and positive behavior of students during their daily commute. Acting as a liaison between the school, the driver, and parents, the monitor ensures that every journey is conducted in an orderly and secure environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise students while boarding, traveling, and disembarking the school bus.

  • Ensure all students are safely seated and using seat belts at all times.

  • Verify that students are collected by authorized parents/guardians at designated stops.

  • Maintain discipline and order on the bus to minimize distractions for the driver.

  • Address and report any instances of bullying or inappropriate behavior to the school administration.

  • Promote a positive and respectful atmosphere among students of different ages.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • Language Skills: Proficiency in Portuguese and a good working level of English (essential for communicating with the international student body and staff).
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children or in a supervisory role is highly preferred.
  • Soft Skills: High level of patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in emergency situations.
  • Certification: First Aid and CPR certification is a significant advantage (training may be provided by the school).
  • Availability: Must be available for split-shift hours (typically early morning and late afternoon) during term time
