ROLE SUMMARY:

St. Peter’s International School is an international school that provides a competitive, high-quality response to the needs of a diverse population. To join our team in January 2025, we are looking for a well-qualified and talented Head of Mathematics and Mathematics Teacher, to teach Cambridge Lower Secondary Mathematics, IGCSE Mathematics and IB DP Mathematics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

In addition to the responsibilities of a teacher, the Special Education Needs Coordinator will be responsible for:

 

 

•    Provide targeted, individualized support to students with special educational needs within the International Stream.
•    Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement inclusive teaching strategies and differentiated lesson plans.
•    Conduct assessments to identify students' specific learning needs and create individualized education plans (IEPs) accordingly.
•    Support students in achieving academic, social, and emotional goals by employing evidence-based teaching methodologies.
•    Liaise with parents, guardians, and external specialists to ensure a cohesive approach to each student’s education and well-being.
•    Monitor and report on the progress of students with SEN, adjusting teaching plans as needed.
•    Provide guidance, training, and resources to teaching staff to enhance understanding and implementation of inclusive practices.
•    Foster a nurturing, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity.
•    Actively contribute to co-curricular and enrichment programmes, supporting the holistic development of students.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

•    A recognized teaching qualification and additional certification or training in Special Educational Needs (e.g., SENCO, SEND qualification).
•    Proven experience working with students with special educational needs, preferably within an international school setting.
•    Familiarity with the UK National Curriculum, Cambridge Programme, International Baccalaureate Diploma programme, or equivalent international frameworks.
•    Strong understanding of inclusive teaching strategies differentiated instruction, and intervention techniques.
•    Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
•    Commitment to ongoing professional development and a positive, growth-oriented mindset.
•    Passion for promoting equity, inclusion, and the holistic development of all learners.
