We are seeking a passionate and experienced IB History Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students, develop their historical analysis skills, and prepare them for the IB Diploma Programme (DP) and beyond.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Deliver engaging and inquiry-based History instruction aligned with the IB Diploma Programme (DP) framework.
  • Encourage critical thinking and historical analysis, helping students develop strong evaluative and research skills.
  • Support students in Internal Assessments (IAs) and Extended Essays (EEs), ensuring a strong foundation in historical investigation.
  • Incorporate interdisciplinary teaching, linking historical themes to other IB subjects and fostering cross-curricular connections.
  • Use diverse teaching methods, including debates, primary source analysis, and digital resources, to enhance student engagement.
  • Assess student progress using IB grading criteria, providing constructive feedback to improve historical writing and argumentation skills.
  • Promote a global perspective, helping students understand historical events in a broader international and cultural context.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, staying updated with IB best practices and historical scholarship.
  • Encourage independent research, fostering academic curiosity and a passion for historical inquiry.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment, prioritizing student well-being and intellectual growth.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • A degree in History, International Relations, or a related field.
  • A recognized teaching qualification and experience teaching IB History at the secondary level.
  • Strong knowledge of IB assessment criteria, Internal Assessments (IAs), and Extended Essays (EEs).
  • Experience in guiding students through historical research and critical source analysis.
  • A student-centered approach, fostering inquiry-based learning and intellectual curiosity.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, working effectively within a diverse school community.
  • Proficiency in English, with international school teaching experience preferred.
  • Commitment to innovative teaching, integrating modern historical research and digital tools into the curriculum.
