KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Deliver high-quality Economics instruction aligned with the IB Diploma Programme (DP) framework.
• Encourage critical thinking and inquiry, guiding students to analyze real-world economic issues and apply theoretical concepts.
• Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs, ensuring all students can access and engage with the curriculum.
• Prepare students for IB assessments, including Internal Assessments (IAs) and Extended Essays (EEs).
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance student engagement and understanding.
• Foster interdisciplinary connections with other IB subjects and promote cross-curricular collaboration.
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic growth.
• Engage in continuous professional development, staying updated with IB best practices and economic trends.
• Support extracurricular activities, such as debate clubs, economics competitions, or student-led initiatives.
• Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment, prioritizing student well-being and global citizenship.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• A degree in Economics, Business, or a related field.
• A recognized teaching qualification and experience teaching IB Economics at the secondary level.
• Strong knowledge of IB assessment criteria, Internal Assessments (IAs), and Extended Essays (EEs).
• A student-centred approach, fostering independent learning and inquiry-based thinking.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, working effectively within a diverse school community.
• Proficiency in English, with international school teaching experience preferred.
• Commitment to innovation in education, integrating real-world applications into the curriculum.
• A passion for economic theory, global perspectives, and the role of economics in shaping the future.
