Role Summary

The IB Biology Teacher will be responsible for delivering an engaging and rigorous curriculum that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of biological sciences. The successful candidate will have experience teaching the IB Diploma Programme (DP) Biology and a strong track record of student achievement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Deliver high-quality IB Biology lessons that align with the IB philosophy and promote inquiry-based learning.
Create a stimulating and supportive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and independent thinking.
Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that cater to a diverse range of learners.
Assess and track student progress, providing constructive feedback to support academic growth.
Prepare students for IB internal and external assessments, ensuring they reach their full potential.
Collaborate with colleagues across the Science Department to enhance curriculum development and share best practices.
Support students in their Extended Essays (EE) and Internal Assessments (IA) for IB Biology.
Participate in school events, parent meetings, and extracurricular activities that contribute to the vibrant school community.
Stay up to date with the latest developments in biology and science education.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

A degree in Biology or a related field.
A teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
Experience teaching IB DP Biology (MYP experience is an advantage).
A passion for science and the ability to inspire students through engaging and interactive lessons.
Strong knowledge of IB assessment criteria and curriculum requirements.
The ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A commitment to professional development and lifelong learning.
International school experience (preferred but not essential).
