We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified English Literature and Language Teacher to join our dedicated faculty. In this role, you will help students develop a deep understanding and appreciation of English literature and language while enhancing their critical thinking, analytical, and communication skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Deliver engaging instruction in both English Literature and Language, aligned with Cambridge IGCSE and IB curricula, or equivalent programmes.

  • Encourage critical thinking and literary analysis, fostering a passion for diverse texts and real-world relevance in students.

  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities, ensuring an inclusive and dynamic classroom environment.

  • Develop students’ analytical and creative writing skills, preparing them for a variety of assessments and fostering strong communication skills.

  • Create a collaborative and interactive classroom that promotes debate, critical thinking, and independent research.

  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods, including group discussions, independent projects, and technology, to enhance learning outcomes.

  • Provide timely and constructive feedback, using formative and summative assessments to track and improve student progress.

  • Promote student well-being, creating an inclusive, supportive environment that encourages confidence and active participation.

  • Adhere to school policies and maintain high professional standards while contributing to the wider school community.

  • Engage in continuous professional development, staying up to date with best practices in literature and language instruction.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

 

  • Hold a relevant degree in English, English Literature, or a related field, preferably with international teaching experience. 
  • Have a valid teaching qualification and experience teaching both English Literature and Language at the secondary level. 
  • Possess a deep passion for literature and language, and a commitment to fostering critical thinking in students. 
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Are highly organised, detail-oriented, and collaborative in your approach to teaching. 
  • Demonstrate a commitment to student welfare and safeguarding practices. 
  • Have a strong command of English and embrace innovative teaching methods.
