Business Manager

ROLE SUMMARY:

St. Peter's International School is seeking a passionate and results-oriented Business Manager to join our School Leadership Team (SLT).
In this pivotal role, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the entire school.
You'll oversee our administrative, maintenance, and IT staff, manage day-to-day operations, and provide strategic financial guidance to the Executive Head.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead and Inspire: Supervise and motivate a diverse team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency across all school support services.
• Financial Acumen: Partner with the Executive Head and SLT to develop and execute strategic financial plans, ensuring effective budget management and resource allocation and manage the financial secretary (secretaria Financeira) with all corresponding responsibilities for collections and parental liaison with finance.
• Safe and Secure Environment: Manage school facilities, prioritising health and safety, and overseeing maintenance, repairs, and improvements.
• Strategic Growth: Collaborate across departments to identify and implement new revenue streams and business development opportunities, including school trips.
• Strong Partnerships: Work closely with the HR department to support staff recruitment, onboarding, and development.
• Clear Communication: Keep the Executive Head and SLT informed on critical matters related to finances, facilities, and staff, liaising closely with Head Office.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• A strategic and results-driven personality with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high quality experience / service.
• Proven financial expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• A strong understanding of health and safety regulations and risk management procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships across all levels.
• Fluency in English and Portuguese for effective communication within the school community.
• May have experience of running International Schools, hotels or large stores.
• Experience working in an educational setting (a plus).
• Familiarity with international schools and the potential for working abroad (a plus).
