The Role:

We are delighted to welcome applications from outstanding, dynamic and suitably experienced individuals for the role of Part-Time Teacher of Design, Technology and Engineering (DTE), to be in post ready for the next academic year, starting September 2026. This is a superb opportunity for the right candidate to leverage their experience as a DTE specialist in a high-performing school environment to help establish world-class DTE provision at Wetherby Pembridge. Working closely with the Deputy Head (Academic), the successful candidate will have an exciting role in helping to develop an innovative, ambitious and comprehensive DTE programme for this exciting new chapter in the Wetherby Pembridge journey.

Closing Date 14th November. Interviews will be conducted on a rolling basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teaching approximately a 25% timetable allocation of Design, Technology and Engineering. There is a potential for the right candidate for an additional timetable allocation of lessons in Computer Science, and potential for the role to increase over time, as the school grows
• Working closely with the Deputy Head (Academic), developing and implementing a world-class DTE curriculum
• Planning, preparing and delivering excellent lessons, including working with the Deputy Head (Academic) and the SENDCo to ensure that DTE teaching at Wetherby Pembridge makes appropriate provision for candidates with additional needs
• Promoting the study of DTE throughout the school
• Attending and contributing to regular departmental meetings
• Contributing to super-curricular provision within DTE, and helping to foster a culture in which broad and regular super-curricular engagement is a routine aspect of student life
• Taking part in lesson observations and work scrutinies
• Liaising with the Head of Partnerships and Senior Leadership Team as appropriate to help develop and support Community Partnership opportunities
• For appropriately qualified candidates, opportunities may exist for additional teaching within the wider curriculum and / or additional responsibilities, e.g. coaching Games, contributing to pastoral oversight, etc.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

• PGCE, QTS or equivalent with strong academic credentials, including  a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, and the right to work in the UK
• Significant experience of delivering outstanding DTE provision in a high-performing school environment
• The ability to teach DTE to A Level
• The ability to teach Computer Science
• The resilience, drive, strength of character and sense of both humour and perspective to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding and ambitious environment
