ROLE SUMMARY:
Reddam House North Shore is seeking an outstanding PDHPE & Geography Secondary Teacher to start in the 2025 academic year to deliver engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate lessons for students from Year 7 to Year 12. The ideal candidate will inspire students to lead healthy, active lifestyles and support their physical, social, and emotional well-being.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Curriculum Delivery: Plan, deliver, and assess engaging PDHPE lessons in line with the New South Wales PDHPE syllabus for 7 - 12.
- Student Engagement: Foster a supportive, inclusive, and active learning environment that encourages participation and personal growth.
- Physical Education Instruction: Teach fundamental movement skills, sport-specific skills, and fitness concepts tailored to different year levels.
- Teach Geography from the Key Learning Areas as specified by NESA.
- Prepare daily and long-term lesson plans that adhere to curriculum standards and cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
- Arrange and manage classroom resources effectively to support an engaging and conducive learning environment.
- Assess students’ abilities, strengths, and areas for improvement, providing individualised support to help them overcome challenges and excel academically.
- Maintain productive working habits and discipline within the classroom to foster a respectful and focused learning atmosphere.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in teaching physical education and leading sports programs, ideally in a high school setting.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple events, teams, and activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, staff, and parents.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, particularly in coaching and team management.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and risk management in school sports.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of the PDHPE faculty.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching at the secondary school level, with a strong understanding of NESA curriculum requirements.
- Expertise in one or more of the Key Learning Areas, with the ability to teach effectively and engage students with diverse learning needs.
- Excellent classroom management skills, with a focus on creating a positive and disciplined learning environment.
- Strong assessment and evaluation skills, with the ability to monitor and report on student progress accurately.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in PDHPE, Physical Education, Sports Science, or equivalent.
- Relevant teaching qualification (e.g Bachelor of Education).
- Accreditation to teach in NSW
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Working with Children Check (WWCC) or equivalent clearance.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be available to support extracurricular sports activities outside of regular school hours.
- Willingness to engage in professional development to stay updated with current trends in sports education.
