ROLE SUMMARY:
Our School Receptionist is the first point of contact for all visitors, staff, and students at Reddam North Shore. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring a welcoming, professional, and organised front office environment. The School Receptionist manages a wide range of administrative tasks to support the daily operations of the school, ensuring smooth communication and effective handling of enquiries. The role contributes to the overall efficiency and image of the school.
The reception role is a maternity leave cover commencing 14 January until 23 October 2026. The hours are 7:30am - 3:30pm and the role is paid for term time only.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet and assist all visitors, including parents, students, staff, and external guests, in a professional and courteous manner.
- Manage incoming calls, emails, and other communications, directing them to the appropriate departments or individuals.
- Handle student attendance records, including late arrivals and early departures,ensuring accurate documentation.
- Provide administrative support to the school’s management, including handling correspondence, scheduling appointments, and filing.
- Ensure the reception area is tidy, welcoming, and efficiently managed at all times.
- Assist with the coordination of school events, meetings, and functions as required.
- Liaise with staff, parents, and external stakeholders to facilitate communication and manage enquiries.
- Maintain up-to-date records in the school’s databases and ensure confidentiality of all sensitive information.
- Provide first aid support and manage the school's sick bay as needed, ensuring that students are well cared for.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Previous experience in a receptionist or administrative role, preferably in an educational setting.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with a variety of stakeholders.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle enquiries and issues efficiently.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role.
- First aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid Working with Children Check.
