ROLE SUMMARY:
A Primary Teacher at Reddam House plays a vital role in fostering the intellectual, social, physical, and emotional development of young learners. This position is responsible for delivering a well-rounded education that meets curriculum guidelines while nurturing a positive learning environment.
You will engage students in a variety of subject areas, utilising creative and effective teaching methods that cater to diverse learning needs. The role contributes significantly to the school’s mission of providing an innovative, holistic, and student-centred education, ensuring that each child reaches their full potential. This is a permanent role located in at our Reddam House North Shore School teaching Year 3.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan Lessons: Develop daily and long-term lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards.
- Teach Subjects: Deliver instruction across core areas including math, English, science, arts, and physical education.
- Manage Classroom: Organise resources and maintain an engaging, orderly learning environment.
- Use Creative Activities: Incorporate art, games, music, and sports to enhance learning and student development.
- Maintain Discipline: Foster respectful and focused classroom behavior
- Supervise Students: Ensure student safety and well-being throughout the school day.
- Assess Progress: Evaluate student performance and provide feedback to students, parents, and staff.
- Support Well-being: Monitor and address students’ emotional and social needs.
- Engage with Community: Participate in meetings, events, and communicate with parents
- Professional Development: Stay current with educational practices and maintain accreditation.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Proven experience in teaching at the primary school level, with a strong understanding of curriculum requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to teach a wide range of subjects effectively and engage students with diverse learning needs
- Excellent classroom management skills, with a focus on creating a positive and disciplined learning environment.
- Strong assessment and evaluation skills, with the ability to monitor and report on student progress accurately.
- Experience in organising and supervising school activities and events.
- Proficient in using educational technologies and creative teaching methods to enhance the learning experience.
- Passionate about education and committed to the holistic development of young learners.
- Creative and innovative in teaching approaches, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Patient, empathetic, and understanding, with a strong ability to support students’ emotional and social well-being.
- Highly organised, with excellent time management skills and attention to detail.
- Collaborative team player who works well with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A recognised teaching qualification, such as a Bachelor of Education (Primary) or equivalent.
- Accreditation with NESA (New South Wales Education Standards Authority)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- A valid Working with Children Check.
- Provide lunch & playground cover and assist with pick up & drop off duties.
- Ongoing commitment to professional development and maintaining NESA accreditation.
- Willingness to attend school events outside regular hours as required (e.g., performances, parent-teacher interviews, etc.).
